Milk Supply Q wanting to drop a bm feed - mix feeding

Yet another question
DD is now 10 weeks and we have tried exc bf, mix feeding, back to exc bf and now mix feeding again.

Supply a major issue (as I had stopped bf all together for a few days back in week 2).

DD has bf in the morning and keeps her settled but from about 2pm onwards I "top her up" (my choice, I have tried EVERYTHING to bring supply up and spent week 7 and 8 just bf but she was never settled, didn't poo much and DS spent 2 weeks indoors and was getting too much to handle too).

I want to stop bf at her 5/6pm feed as I bf for over 45 min and she still gobbles down at least 4 oz after that. It is very time consuming and with getting DS dinner and bath too I could use the time. BUT if I drop it will it effect the supply I have in the am? I really want to try and at least make 3 months with her getting some bm.

Oh, I do have to wear nipple shields (she was tongue tied and still can't draw the nipple into her soft palate making bf painful without) so I know that can effect supply too.

Advice welcome.

I had similar problem here. If you try to BF her before offering the bottle, it might help keep the supply up. What I ended up doing is BF early and mid morning, and offering BF before the afternoon and evening bottles. I gave him a full bottle for sleep feed at 10.00 pm, and BF him if he woke up during the night and in the morning. The supply was OK but I think it's imprtant to offer BF and let her have a good suck before offering the bottle. Good luck
