White spots in mouth thought it was thrush but could it be something else???

My 2w old DD has white spots on the roof of her mouth. We have been treating it with Daktarin gel for 2 weeks and there has been no improvement.
I tried to rub one off yesterday to see if it left the classic red sore patch (how mean) but the spots are really hard and won't budge. So depsite my MW, a nurse and a GP saying it is thrush I am beginning to think it might not be.
She is b/feeding OK and I have no symptoms (although I am using a nipple cream anyway to be sure). Although I ddi have thrush in late pregnancy and could have had it at the birth.
Has anyone else had these symptoms and it wasn't thrush?!?! I originally though it was partly cause she can be a bit fussy at the breast but that seems to have calmed down a bit now.

My dd had little white spots on the roof of her mouth - I was told it was normal and the same as milk spots on the face. sorry very hazy memories as was a couple of weeks post-natal and have blocked that time out as v. traumatic! If they are really hard spots too it does sound like my dd's. Hers disappeared on their own with no treatment.I'd be very dubious about using daktarin anymore if it hasn't worked after two weeks.

Many thanks for your info- this could well be it!!! I was a bit confused by how hard they were. Seeing HV on Weds so will try to get them confirmed and stop giving thrush meds for no reason.
