We have a 10 day old who is breast feeding well except at night (not always) - Problem is after he has fed and we put him down he just continously makes noises (snorting / snuffling etc) - he will eventually get upset after about an hour at which point I lift him and feed him - when I put him back down he settles for about 10 minutes! - then the noises start again- within an hour he will want fed again. Last night this went on ALL night hense no sleep at all. - Does anyone have any suggestions to stop us going up the wall?

could it be wind? mine used to take 10mins or so before they had a sucessful burp...but those 10mins in the night seemed like 10 hours! if i tried putting her down without the vital burp it was exactly as you describe

Could it just be that he isnt settling well. Try swaddling. It may be he isnt hungry but just isnt comfy enough to sleep and so is making noises as he wants cuddling etc. I know my DD would make those noises until I swaddled and then she would go into a deep sleep. Before I swaddled if I took her out and fed her she always fed but the fact that if she was swaddled she slept made me think she wasnt really that hungry
