Thought I'd go back to the mini pill but its supposed to reduce milk supply or is that only for young babies? Not sure how it works. It tried the progesterone only one between child 2 and 3 but kept forgetting to take it at the right time of the day.

Currently just waiting to see that I am not pregnant for sure as was careless on holiday 10 days or so ago... and then need to get contraception sorted out as I don't want to take any more risks.

Anyone else out there still breastfeeding and what contraception do you use? Thanks.

Hi Eulalia. Still bf ds who is 19 months. Not using any contraception as (sort of) ttc. Have only used mini pill whilst bf (until ds was 14 months) but didn't have any supply issues that I was aware of. Ideally would like coil, but have a wonky shaped uterus so not suitable.

PMSL, this post doesn't really help you one little bit!!

I stopped bf a long time ago, dd's 2.8yo, but we used condoms as soon as we resumed sex. Wasn't ideal but I didn't want to take the pill either. I went back to the pill once dd decided bf was not for her anymore, she was 8mo.

How disastrous would it be to conceive again? If it would be, just now or at all, would you consider a Mirena coil? I have one as I had a horrible pregnancy that would be dangerous to repeat any time soon and it is even more reliable than sterilisation - but also very reversible. Easy going in, and less spotting than I had on the mini-pill.

Bit squeamish about the coil - don't know why.

Don't think pregnancy would be a good idea, I have 3 children and I am 41 and knackered!

Good to seeyou are still b/feeding mawbroon (rem you from the picnic) - good luck with next baby.

I'll do some more research but need to do a test, I think I am OK but its early days yet (gulp!)
