Infant feeding

should I be giving ex bfed 8 month old water with his meals?

he has a breastfeed early morning, mid-morning, mid-afternoon, sometimes another before dinner, bed-time and one in the night, sometimes two. he eats well and has three sustantial meals a day plus two puddings (one fruit the other yoghurt usually). I did try him with a beaker of water which he would drink but then he didn't want boob in day but woke up more often at night (three or four times and I was getting engorged in the day!) so I dispensed with the water and just gave him me, how he is back on track. this seems to be the best way of doing things, would you say this is OK or should I be offering a drink with his meals??

Thanks : )

he should be ok on just being bf but he your baby an if you feel you need him to drink extra water do this perhaps offering an oz or to after bfing if it was disrupting his feeds. Good luck

hi kiera!
i miss you from siftw, but glad ds doing well in the night division!
re. the offering of water, it sounds like your ds is getting same amount of bfs a day a dd. i may offer dd water from her doidy cup with her lunch, but its literally an oz at the most, dont think she really wants it mostly, but i figure i'm getting her used to the cup! she's having plenty of wet/dirty nappies, so i feel shes hydrated enough. its only imo, but hih
