my ds (4hlf mths)refuses to take formula , currently b/f but am trying to start weaning him onto formula feeds in preparation for my rtn to work. I used avent teats, then switched to nuby teats ...tried formula , he developed a rash round mouth which indicates he has a cows milk allergy ( my dd1 has cows milk allergy so the signs r the same) so switched to soya formula...still refuses it , he eithers pushes the teat away or just blows into the teat !....any tips ?

ds was like this. he is 13 weeks, and has 1bottle EBM and 1 of formula per day. He was refusing the formula one.
I switched to a vari-flow teat (so he has to suck to get it, and can control how much he can get), and for a few feeds mixed formula with EBM. I think they taste different, so mixing it helped disguise the formula.
Good luck!

Hi Coco. The only teat mine will take is the Nuk one, my MW suggested it as the one she has seem most success with. Also found he took formula better when it was really quite warm. but EBM is ok cold!
