Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the cross posting, mods please remove if this is not allowed

My name is Vicky and I am a Mum to Nathan who is now 9 months old. I work full time but have just started studying to become a breastfeeding counsellor. Part of my training is to set up a Mum?s group in my area to act as a support group and a place where I can also hear about peoples feeding experiences and possibly learn some more about breastfeeding.

I live in Morecambe, Lancashire and would like to set up a group that would meet every week on a Saturday or Sunday. I am looking for other Mums who wouldn?t mind coming along, having a coffee and a natter for a couple of hours and letting the babies and kids play. I have decided to open the group to mums who have babies, toddlers of any age, you do not also have to be breastfeeding, everyone is welcome but if you will have to put up with me chatting about feeding habits, bottle feeding, weaning etc so I can get some case studies. Many breastfeeding groups exclude mums who combination feed or who have stopped breastfeeding because their baby is weaned. I think that these mums have the right to come to groups and coffee mornings too, so everyone is welcome. As some mums also work full time like me, the meetings will be on a weekend to give people who work the chance to meet other local mums. Oh and Dads are welcome too of course!

I still have to find a venue but I will be looking into that this week. I can be flexible and have the venue in Morecambe or Lancaster, but will aim for a baby friendly place which wont mind us descending on them for a couple of hours.

If you live local or can travel and would like to come along, please email me with your name, babies/kids names a contact email and your location. I will set up a mailing list and let everyone know more details as I arrange them! My email is [email protected]

Love n hugs
Vicky
