Boots steriliser

My sister lent me her Boots microwave steriliser, but she didn't have instructions anymore, and was veru vague on how much water to put in and how long to put in the microwave. I'd like to be comfortable that I'm using it correctly - does anyone have the same one and can you help?

Many thanks,

We had one, which had a clear plastic 'dome' lid. is that the one? We had to put in 8oz of water, for 8 minutes. We then had an avent one, which was exactly the same requirements. Hope this helps!

Hamandcheese. I've got the same - my SIL gave us her Boots steriliser. It holds 4 bottles and has a blue lid. DH looked up on net for instructions and we have ended up putting in 200ml of water for 4 mins. After reading imnot27 post, I'm worried we're not putting it on for long enough. Sorry not to be more help.

Mine is clear plastic with a white lid with Boots logo in middle, and has a blue rack inside to put bottles on. Not the same as imnot27's, or yours. it's quite large - not sure how many bottles will take. My sister said use 6 oz the first time I asked and use 3 oz on another occasion. I'll try looking up on the website, though - good idea. Anyone else know?

Mine has got the blue rack life shelf inside with another one that lifts off (the one you put the bottles in) It can take big or small bottles but 4 at a time. We couldn't find our exact one but used a best guess. We've been using it for a week to sterilise bottles for expressed milk (so only once a day) and DS seems fine!

I think I've got the same Boots steriliser (sounds the same anyway). It holds 6 bottles. The instructions I got with mine actually had two different amounts of water mentioned! One must have been a typo. I use 7oz of water and put it in the microwave for 5 mins. My microwave is 800W.
My instructions are in ds's room so I can't check for other powers at the mo.
Hope that helps!

runnervt - our microwave is 650w, I'd be grateful if you could check what your instructions advise for that. I reckon mine would take 6 bottles but I'd use for expressing kit so not ever but more than 1 bottle in.

Many thanks!

I've got this steriliser .....
says use exactly 7oz of water, ovens up to 750w full power for 8 mins, ovens above 750w full power for 5 mins. Leave for at least 3 mins before removing from microwave, preferably 10 mins. Unopened the contents remain sterile for 3 hours.
