Anyone had MAM bottles?

Hi, i ve been looking at the MAM anti colic bottles and was wondering if anyone had used them and what they were like?

Seen mixed reviews on them, some are saying they are great and others are saying they leak...

I think they're fab, they don't leak if you tighten them properly, and it's great to be able to sterilise them so quickly (3 mins in microwave).

We have been using them for 10 month old dd since birth and they have been fab. No leaking at all

If you put more than one bottle in the microwave is it still 3 mins?

Are you able to put them in a jug of hot water when out and about to warm the feed?

Yes used the self sterilising ones. Popped them in microwave . So easy. Used cartons too ( v lazy).

I used them for DD and will use them again for this baby. The microwave sterilising was great and I didn't find they leaked (well, apart from when I was sleep deprived and forgot to screw the top on, but that's hardly the bottles fault!)

I can't see any reason you couldn't put them in a jug of hot water (I never did as DD has never been a fan of warm milk).

The reason i ask about the jug of water is that one reviewer on amazon said that if you put them in a jug of water then the water can seep through the bottom of the bottle and therefore you get extra water in the feed

Had them from DD being 6 weeks old and suffering with wind. They were a life saver. :)

No leaks unless you dont put the bottom on right. If you do get some the strange sucky noise from the bottle is normal too btw, shows its working, dont worry!

The bottles are 3min mocrowave sterlizing for one (easy peasy, even Dh mastered it after being shown just once) and an additional minute for each bottle, up to 6mins for 4 bottles.

You can use hot water to cool... But you have to make sure the water level is around half /three quarters the level of milk in the bottle, due to the pressure equalising of there's more outside bottle and it does suck a LITTLE in, but never too much. :)

I'd be a sales rep if they asked me I'm so in love with the brand! Lol, soothers and teething items are great too :)

How many bottles do you need exactly? Why do they sell boxes of 10!?

We tried a few different types and the MAM ones were the best for DS (mostly breastfed)

Love MAM bottles. Have used the anti colic self sterilising ones and the normal, no frills ones. Both excellent. Prefer the latter purely because there are less parts to wash up. No leaks at all.

Another vote for MAM bottles. Although as we wash ours in the dishwasher once or twice a day in bulk we also sterilise them all together too in an electric steriliser. Seems easier as we wash them together and also quicker than microwaving the same amount (we have 7 bottles).

I use them they are brilliant, the only bottle my DD would accept (mainly bf). As PP said check they are all screwed together tight enough before filling and when warming a feed make sure the hot water is approximately 2/3 as deep as the milk.

Also if you want a dummy their 0+ soothers are fab, smaller than most other brands and easy to sterilise (come with their own pot to do it in).
