Ideas for packed lunch for a nearby one year old?

My nearly one year old is about to go to a childminder for some odd days here and there. She has asked I give him a packed lunch. Help... At home he eats bits broken off what I am eating - he wasn't BLW per se but he rejects being fed by a spoon now (except for strawberry yoghurt). Eg right now he is eating toast with humous and cut up grapes and sticks of cucumber. But I can't send toast along. He doesn't really like pasta or bananas.

What foods other than sandwiches and pasta work well cold for a young child?

Thanks

I would send a selection of prepped fruit (like the cut grapes) my 13 month old likes wraps, malt loaf, sandwiches. I make pin wheels using Jul Rol puff pastry which he loves (unroll pastry, spread a bit of tomato puree on, grated cheese then whatever else chopped ham, fresh spinach etc, roll up, slice and bake) bread sticks and cream cheese. Tomatoes, cucumber, pepper sticks. He likes the fruit flavoured rice cakes. I also keep some baby snacks in, I think they're organix, carrot cake bars etc (no added sugar) yogurt, either pots or pouches.

Little bite-sized squares of quiche? Savoury muffins, cubes of cheese, pitta and veg strips with hummus. Arancini, veg croquettes/fritters with a yoghurt dip.

Fill a deep muffin tin with omelette mixture and put in oven for 15 mins to cook. Taste great warm or cold and can be stored in fridge in an air tight container for 3 days.

I use cheese, ham, mushroom, onion, pepper, peas....

Also roast some sweet potato wedges for dinner and have leftovers for lunch the following day. Again taste good warm or cold.

Great idea mrsmoomoopoopoo. Never thought of cold sweet potato wedges. Are they really nice? (He loves warm ones)

Yes riding they are nice. My dd will eat any veg cold but not sure I would!

Cheese scones would be quick to make and freeze well. Must make some myself... Some great ideas here. I'm always in a rush and so cheese and avocado sandwiches are a staple.
