Infant feeding

Going back to work

My dd2 will be starting nursery in 2 weeks, going for 3 full days. She will be 5 months old by then.
This morning when I dropped dd1 off the manager asked me what kind of routine she was in. I said I would write it all down for her when she starts.
But the truth is dd2 isn't in any kind of routine. Shes breastfed on demand, sleeps when she feels like it and has never really tried a bottle or dummy.
She will be having formula at nursery because I don't want the added pressure of expressing. But I still want to breastfeed at home.
Should I start introducing formula now so the change is as smooth as possible for dd2? And should I start doing something about some kind of routine?
I don't really want to express at work but will this affect my supply?
Any advice is appreciated

BTBAP - i know the feeling! i had to leave dd last week for the day and like you,she doesnt really have a routine. i too am trying to find one now so she will be one by the time she goes to nursery. i have started giving formula during the day and bf at night,to get us both in the habit and to give my supply a chance to adjust(like you, will not be able to express). i am also trying to put her down for naps at a regular time if we are in, although this goes out of the window if we are out! thought it would give me something to tell them at nursery though!

not sure there is any actual advice here but i would maybe try her on a bit of formula or certainly some ebm so you can get her used to a bottle/cup. laso, maybe try and make a note of when she naps and see if you can get any sort of pattern.
