I've Stopped Breastfeeding, Now I'm Not Sure I Want To...

DS was biting really really badly, and I was soooo tired, and was just about to go on medication so I mix fed, but then formula took over. The medication I've found out is BFing safe (Citalopram) and even though the formula has been a god send I wanted to breastfeed alot longer (DS 9 1/2 months). I did a few nighttime feeds, but he bit me the other day again so thought maybe I had made the right decision, now I'm not sure. Can I start BFing again? There is milk there, but I feel empty if that makes sense. Can I build back up the way I cut down? Can I just use sheilds? (I bought some a while back, but my nipples don't really go in, but I could try and squeeze them in....) He was last fully breastfed about 2/3 weeks ago, and the last week he has had about 2 or 3 breastfeeds.... Is it too late?

hi there, if there is still milk in there it is worth giving it a try!, i am just stopping feeding my son now at 17 months and finidng he really misses it etc, so if ur little one has adapted quit well maybe itmight be good to stop now,,
i think if u want to carry on try and see what happens everyones bodies are different, etc, so see what happensx

I thought it would be a stage, but it's been since about November ish time. Started to be every feed until feeding was painful and I was bleeding and scratched. Maybe next feed I will give it a go...

i was told that when they bite to push them into the breast,, sounds mad i know but did seem to work,, i know intially it is that hurts get off, etc, i know it did take some time, about a month or so as he was teething badly and my nipples suffered as a result,, but then it just seemed to stop,,,

He wasn't teething the other morning, he just....bit me again. Thig is he holds on, I do push him into my breast and he comes off, but it makes me nervous feeding him again... My biggest worry now is will I have enough milk now for him? It's so hard to tell breastfeeding!
