BF to formula

My little one is BF, and i would like to keep it that way. He's 7mo, on solids too (loves them!!). The thing is, we've got a big trip to the UK (we're in OZ) and it's the first time I've been home in a few years, I'm really quite desperate to have a night out with some friends, as I don't have many here as we're quite isolated and also have no family to look after him. He's a PITA at night, feeds around 6-7pm and then sleeps until 10-11, wakes for another feed then is up 2-4 times a night for a feed and sleeps in bed with is. Would it be awful for me to change him to formula for a feed or two so I can give him to my mum for a night out?

Not at all. I'd try introducing 1 bottle a day now, my ds was a bottle refuser, we cracked it eventually but took a while.
