Infant feeding

Is this ok?

Nearly 9mo old DD was Ebf but am going back to work in a couple of weeks so have gradually cut down bf to once a day during the day and plan to cut it out altogether in daytime when I start work.

She is supposed to have a bottle of formula in the afternoon but she doesn't really care much for it and only has about half at most, sometimes only a few ounces. She has three hearty solid meals however and bfs in the morning, at bedtime and several times in the night (we cosleep).

I guess I am just looking for some reassurance that if she keeps refusing formula she will be ok with very little milk during the hours of 9-5 or if I should be really worried about this! She does drink some water with meals in a sippy cup so shouldn't be dehydrated.

My DD was 10 months when I went back to work and by that point she was refusing all attempts to feed her during the day and only feeding first thing in the morning and last thing at night (not even feeding in the night). She never took a bottle so she just had water during the day in a sippy cup. Around 11 months she started refusing the evening feed as well (started biting instead - I posted a thread about it a few weeks ago). She's 1 in a couple of weeks and down to one feed a day. I plan to introduce cows milk during the day then but I've not been too worried about the lack of milk because she's a good eater and gets plenty milk in cereal, yoghurt and cheese. There's not a lot you can do if they're not interested Smile

My DD1 weaned herself off the breast at 9 months, just wasn't interested anymore. She only had a bottle of formula before bed from then on and was absolutely fine!
