My DS is two and I have FINALLY stopped breastfeeding him. I only had planned to do it for a year, but for a few diff reasons it carried on.

Well, it's been three days since I stopped, and while DS is adjusting to his new non-BF routine, my boobs are agony. They're sore and engorged I don't want to express milk out as surely this would encourage my body to make more??

Any help appreciated xx

Congrats on feeding your son for two years. Smile You're right that you don't want to get into a cycle of expressing but you could express just a little to try and take the edge off, if it's that bad. How much were you feeding him when you stopped?

Perhaps cold cabbage leaves stuffed down your bra, or using some other cold compress, would bring some relief.

Wow, well done on two years! Maybe try just hand expressing off a little to relieve engorgement. Cabbage leaves, cold compresses. Ibuprofen and paracetamol for the pain. Also try not to direct warm water on them when you shower.
