Thrush?!?!

Dd 7wks ok, feeding well all good. Recently it's been toe curling when she latches on, went to the drs to double check, dd had bit of white tongue at the back but we both thought was milk. She said it sounds like thrush but doesn't look like thrush so prescribed a nipple cream and I said I would get my latch checked before I use it.
Latch is better doesn't hurt as much so haven't used the cream although now dd has got white bits on her lip, not spots but almost like cotton mouth but doesn't wipe off. Still got white tongue, my nipples are pretty pink but clean. Is it thrush or not!!

Dd3 had thrush. I had cream for me and something in a syringe for her. Fixed the (unbelievably painful). No idea if it would've gone by itself, was triggered by me being on anti biotics, so possibly once course finished. I suspect not though.

Does thrush make babies more irritable? Might be a stupid question!

It can because their tongues can be sore which is obviously really uncomfortable. When DD and I had thrush she was only ever happy when feeding and that's because the milk was soothing her tongue.

Your GP should have swabbed to check whether it was thrush or not. If you're worried then go back and ask for that to be done.
