i have some sma and some cow and gate and ive just noticed the measurements...

14.5lb baby-
c&g- 7oz x 5- scoop size 4.5g
sma- 6oz x 5- scoop size 4.3g

both 900g tins at different prices believe sma usually more expensive

which is better value?
surely its better to give sma as to not stretch babies tummy? ie why give 7oz when u can give 6

The guide is just that. A guide. forget value fir money go with the milk that your baby stomachs best. Give in quantities your baby will drink.

Some will eat more than stated others less.

On the maths, 4.3g scoops mean there are just over 209 scoops in the tin, and 4.5g 200.

Now, although people are usually fairly diligent about filling scoops properly, it's not unusual to fall short of perfect sometimes. So I don't think the extra 1.4 scoops is going to make any real difference, though you would get 1 more feed for every 4th tin.
