My 15m ds has gone away for 2 nights with DP... I'm still BF him, he can go 10-12 hours with no BF as I'm back at work..
I thought I'd just express for comfort while he's away but we're 24 hours in and my boob (only left boob works) is massively engorged! I hand expressed about 30-40ml last night and this morning managed 30ml with a hand pump. Hand expressing hurts...
Any ideas? Sad

I hear you! Smile try expressing in the bath or a hot shower, the heat should make expressing a bit easier.

Hand expressing shouldn't be very painful though could you poss have the beginnings of mastitis. I had it over 10 times with dc2 (fed him for 19 months) Any hot or red patches on your breasts??

Fill a bowl with water as hot as you can stand.. Get a flannel and press down from outside of breast towards nipple all the way around.. This should help and will hopefully prevent any blockages that could lead to mastitis
