Hi. Just recently (last week) stopped BF completely, and my 11 week old, who is a big boy at over 16 pounds, takes at least 6 ounces at every feed. Last two days he has cried with hunger after a bottle and I have offered a second which he has taken at least half of, so that is a 9 ounce feed twice a day and the others 6 ounces, and he is being fed every 2.5, 3 hours. he seems in proportion, he is beautiful (of course) but I am worried I am overfeeding him.... Just a growth spurt? What do you think.....?

Cheers,

Bloss

if he is not vomiting, and doesnt seem to have a tummy ache...i'd say he is having the right amount of food

they do have a growth spurt at this age

cheers KZ. Could have done this on the PN thread eh?? he sleeps from 11pm to 6.30am so i am happy for him to tank up in the day...just everyone goes on at his size, and how big (not fat just big) he seems for his age and he has these gorgeous chubby jowls and thighs but I don't want to stuff him...

he will also take a 6 oz feed then a bit more half an hour later then settle, like Roshi. I shall put it down to a growth spurt I think. Certainly not going to go all "she wlho shal not be named" on him... taking a 9 oz bottle up to him for his dream feed tonight I think.
