Leaky bottles

We are using tommee tippee anti colic bottles.... Please can anyone tell me why they leak so much?! I'm using Nutramigen so it doesn't mix very well and whenever I give it a shake to mix it up, milk pours out the sides. I've tried everything I can think of........ I didn't have this problem with the normal tommee tippee bottles.

Is it user error or poor design? Are there any better anti colic bottles out there?!

They look similar to Dr Browns' with an internal tube. This means there are probably gaps to allow air out of the tube to stop it going into your DC and causing wind/coloc etc. You can't shake them as the holes allow milk out. You have to swirl.

Normal ones won't have the tube so won't have the holes, which is why you can shake them.

Stir the milk with a spoon instead of shaking it

Will this dissolve the Nutramigen? I've found its really difficult to get rid of the lumps compared to the SMA he was on before.

I found this and I think it's when the milk is boiling, the heat pushes the white wheel up and so the lid doesn't screw on properly. I would leave it to cool for a while before shaking the bottle

Use the lids to shake then add the wheel/tube and teat assembly.
