Dr Brown bottles

I've started using Dr Brown bottles today as 6 week old DS1 suffered from trapped wind with Tommee Tippee bottles. Seems like a bit of a faff to assemble, especially the 'travel disk'. Might be a silly question but how do you remove it without pushing through the teat?!

I never bothered with the travel disc but was only using occasionally. I just kept them vaguely upright.
