Help - where's my milk gone?

Feeling really sad as just struggled to feed my 11mo to sleep as there seemed to be no milk left. He certainly did hardly anything in the way of swallowing. I've just gone back to work and am only able to feed him in the morning and at night/in the night. What's happened? I thought supply would be robust by now. And it worked fine with dc1. Really upset. What can I do?

What is it that makes you think the milk is gone? I think it would be quite unusual for your supply to just disappear at this point. I don't really hear DS swallowing. Do you think you're just looking out for signs because you're worried/anxious about changes in routine?

Is your period due? I know my milk levels (technical term there) fluctuate a bit when I'm due on.

Or could you be (gulp) pregnant again?

Definitely not pregnant - a) would be the immaculate conception and b) have got reliable contraception. (Would quite like that reason though tbh!)

I can usually feel/hear very liquid swallowing but tonight it felt dry, he wasn't swallowing and seemed very frustrated. Feel heartbroken as really wanted to go on for a lot longer and managed to 18 months with first dc.

Could there be other reasons for being unsettled at the boob? Teething? Growth spurt? Cold?

Could you maybe try and fit in a pumping session at work to up supply again a little?

Teething - yes. Bit of a funny tummy today, possibly also teeth related. But still doesn't explain lack of milkiness during feed.

Pumping at work would be a complete no go.
