pre pregnancy I was a 30 A/B. breast size has not changed much but back size has, ive been using back extenders. where can I get a small nursing bra with plenty of padding/shape/pushup to stop me looking flat chested? thanks

are you sure of your size?

measure using this guide as i would guess your back size is too big and your cup size is too small in your current bras

my ribs have expanded but still same size breasts, so small they have no crease under them. without a padded/pushup bra I look& feel insecure& boyish. I need to find nursing bras small enough with enough padding to give me a little confidence

But not all cup sizes are the same as cup size is relative to back size I.e. A B cup on a 34 back is not the same volume as a B cup on a 36 back which is why you need the measurements to get an idea of the correct bra size.

Can you do your measurements as described in the link given?

Yes, agree you should try measuring/getting measured, I discovered after my first pregnancy I was wearing a bra that was way too big in the back and two cup sizes too small - once I got the proper size I looked a lot better and was much more comfortable!

Once you have your size and you're looking for something flattering/padded, Anita do a padded underwired nursing bra, it's lovely.

Have you had your baby yet OP? I was 32A (being generous- prob AA in reality) pre-preg and like you ended up with back extenders during pregnancy. Since having DD ribs have shrunk back and boobs are now a full A/smallish B so I'm less conscious of needing lots of padding. Have found it really hard to get nice small fitting nursing bras- the two I have are Emma Jane B/C cup and though they do fit they aren't any good for lower cut tops as they're still a bit too generous/high rise on the boob coverage, presumably because I'm not exactly bulging them outwards.
In exasperation today I put on a normal lowish cut bra which has some padding (though def not wonderbra amounts) and BFing has actually worked fine just yanking the cups down and tucking them under underwire IYSWIM.
This hasn't exactly been a helpful post has it? But just to say I know where you're coming from and maybe softer/slightly less padded normal bras might work for you!

thanks littlelight you seem to understand where im coming from/what I want. I know cup size changes with back size but my physical cup volume has not increased very much through the pregnancy. i dont need measured as i havent had to buy any new bras. from my post I wanted to know where to look for smaller sizes as mothercare etc start at small back giant cup or small cup giant back. thanks for your experience & i will have a look at emma jane styles :)

I will obv measure myself according to brand guidelines closer to time of needing said bras too to ensure a good fit

yes, but if you have been measured incorrectly beforehand then the bras you are wearing may not be the correct size/shape for you. There are plenty of women on here who have said they are only A or B cups but have then found they are actually C or D cups because their back sizes are too big and cup sizes too small.

Also if you haven't had your baby yet you may be surprised by the size you end up postpartum - I was not the size I expected to be. My ribcage went down very very fast, my cup size went up.

Just to add, I ordered the B/C cup size in the nursing bras and they looked HUGE when they arrived, but after milk came in I actually did fill them (ish). I couldn't describe them as attractive, but they aren't baggy/empty and they do add a bit of shape under clothes!

Definitely recommend that nursingbrashop site, they're very good and have a great selection, but also recommend not buying anything even slightly expensive until a month or so after baby arrives and your size has settled down. I think I was a different size every day for the first few weeks, then, as I said, settled down to a size I really wasn't expecting: I was a 332/4B pre first preg, a 38/40C at the end of pregnancy, and a 32DD when I was finally measured (and wearing completely the wrong size, as "predicted" in Mothercare). Just get something stretchy to start like a sleep bra, then treat yourself to something nice when your size has stabilized a bit.

(also I kept the boobs - only went down to a D, then back up to a DD with DS2)
