Night feeds when do they stop?

I am bf my 13mo dd. she still feeds at night and as she's teething she eats very little in the day. She's definitely hungry when she feeds.
Anyone else still feeding at night at this age?
When is it reasonable to expect her to stop? I'm not keen on forcing the issue but I'm fucking shattered. I also have a 3 yo ds who I bf until he was almost 2 and I've been back at work for a few months now. I would love to get some sleep but I don't want to upset her.
Impossible dream?

I stopped at 14 months because I was cracking at work.

I don't think I would have done it if I hadn't been back at work.

She was a bit grumpy for a few nights but adjusted fine.

She was only having one feed in the night though.

She is 18 months now, we are still bf.

I also know babies who are 2+ and night-feeidng (sorry) and also ones that stopped quite happily at 6 months.

DS1 still fed 3 times a night until he was 2 years old when I had to force the issue (wasn't nice, but I was waiting for him to give up by himself but started to conclude he never would (or rather, he never would in time to suit me!) as like you I was shattered and was suffering backache which never seemed to clear up as I never got the rest.

I'd maybe wait until she's over the worst of her teething then try some soft methods to see if they work (sending in DH to try and settle her, offering her a cup of milk (or water) instead, just cuddling her, etc), failing that if you feel you can't take it anymore, you might have to get 'tough'

(I held my son for 90 minutes while he was distraught at not having his night-time milk, it was horrid but it had to be done, and 3 nights later, he woke for 10 mins, I cuddled him and he went back to sleep and he slept through from night 4 on. He was 2 years old though (so not needing the milk, just wanting the comfort and waking through habit) so different situation to you.

I read this: drjaygordon.com/attachment/sleeppattern.html before I nightweaned DS2, didn't follow the guidance, but his narrative made me feel better :-D

I didn't have a problem with night feeds as dd1 just starting sleeping through from 6 months. Sure it was when starting weaning her . If your dd isn't feeding through the day then she will be hungry and it's not just a comfort thing . I would try instead of 3 meals a day try small portions but about 5 times a day. Making sure it's still the same amount of food . This way you have a better change of catching her without teething pain and may eat more through the day .also try softer food if she isn't chewing with the pain . Really feel for you teething can be a big pain in the butt .

mine varied a lot. ds1 was sleeping through at around 6 months, ds2 didn't sleep through properly until he was at least 3 (sorry!) and ds3 was somewhere between the two

i did find that there was an increase in desire to nurse around the 12 month mark which then waned and the night feeds did decrease although they didn't stop totally.
