Infant feeding

Positioning advice needed!

My DD is 19 days old and we've struggled through with breast feeding but feel like we've made huge progress in the last week.

However, I'm starting to look at my positioning as we do the same for every feed. When she's on the left side, I have her laid across my lap on her back and her head looking across to the breast. When she's on the right, I have her cradled under my right arm and, again, she's looking across to the breast. These positions work well for latching but I'm starting to worry about her neck as she's constantly looking to her right side for hours a day.

Should I be laying her on her side for feeding so she's looking straight ahead?

Any advice welcome - even if it's to say I'm being a worrier!!!

Yes I'd turn her so her head and back are lined up, and her tummy is against yours - they say "nose to nipple, tummy to mummy" for positioning.
