Well! Like the idea of breastmilk fighting cancer, hope that bit turns out to be true one day!

When asked what it tastes like, he said: "It doesn't taste all that pleasant. It's a bit oily and there's an after-taste. My milk was lovely and sweet and my dd agreed.

Well. It's an interesting theory if nothing else.

I've read before that it is not unknown for women to give milk to elderly relatives (I think it's some tribe somewhere that does it). makes sense in that people with compromised immune systems might get some benefit. dunno about the cancer thing, but the guy's still alive after 4 years.

I'vr also heard of ebm being droped into the ears of children with ear infections. There a doc who is adament that this helps clear them up and advises that if you don't breastfeed, you ask for some of your nursing friend and put it in your childs ear!

Can't believe the guy said it tastes bad. Toddlers who breastfeed always say its really yummy, or so I've heard! DS is to young to tell me at the moment.

I gave ds1 small amounts of colostrum when each of his brothers was born. Meant to be good for autism (you can buy cows colustrum for it! not that I have!)

I'm surprised about his comments re the taste too, when I tried mine (well you have to really don't you) I found it pretty inoffensive
