Sicky baby, but not at night?

DD2 (4 months) has been realy sicky for the past week or so, she is a very gready baby (seems to feed all day) ,she does'nt seem to keep anything own all day but at night she keeps 2 feeds down. She never seem satisfied and always seems hungry. Is she being sick because she's having too much milk? How can i satisfy her hunger?

She is bottle fed and has 10 feeds a day (5-6 oz).

When dd2 has had a sicky phase, I try to feed her just before sleep. That way she seems to keep it down. Perhaps you could introduce new games/toys to take her mind off food at other times - not if she really is hungry of course!

Is it ok to give her water in between feeds, i have tried a dummy but then i spend all day putting it in.

Water maybe if she's hot. I'm a breastfeeder so don't know - maybe she needs some water.

Sorry - I was also a breast feeder but my ds was a total gannet and still is. He would feed and feed all day if he could and if he was sick he would just feed some more! I found that after the first few months feeding him at regular times ment that I knew when he should be hungry and fed him more then. Then at other times I knew he was just bored/just fancied having the breast (or bottle) for comfort. When I did that he was sick alot less but carried on putting loads of weight.

As I said not a bottle feeder but is 10 feeds a day alot for bottles?

If she is bottle fed she will be dying for a drink. Offer her cooled boiled water before every feed.

Thanks squarer, i could'nt remember if it was bottle fed or breast fed that you give water to. Gave her some water today and she loved it (was still sick after but happy)

Sounds like overfeeding. Try and space feeds out more during the day with water. At this age babies always have their hands in their mouths. It isn't a sign of hunger but it is the way a baby feels. Toys go in the mouth too.

I don't know, but is she possibly overfeeding because she is thirsty Mears? She wants a drink but gets food?
Marne, you also have to consider that (IIRC!) 4 months is the classic time for a growth spurt so they do ask for more bottles. Personally, I would use the bottle of water beforehand to see if you notice any difference
