lazy latch daytime. boob monster at night!

Me Back again! !
Dd is 9 weeks now and still ebf. Things have been ok after a difficult start (tongue tie cut at 4 weeks)
During the day she has developed a really lazy latch. It have to hold my ( not overly huge)boob up or she just let's nipple fall out ( then screams
as if wondering where it's gone!!) She does sometimes latch well but what should I do when she doesn't? ?
Night times are a whole different story. I feed her laying down co sleeping and she has wonderful latch and it feels like she's drawing strongly and getting a really good feed. No worries with weight gain.
Sometimes I think she's just having a little drink ( wetting her whistle as my mum would say) which is fine. Just wondering if there is anything i can do to improve her daytime latch thinking that if she fed better during the day she'd sleep better at night ( the last week or so have been hard going) or is it just ( another) one of those things that may may not change with time.
Tia wise mners

I her latch isn't right in the day its fine to take her off and to get her to try again. Have you tried breast compressions in the day to encourage her to feed more and are you offering both sides?

Is there a bfing support group you can go to? They should be able to help you with your latch Smile

Hi Rosie. I think we were both on the 40+ thread when expecting.

I have an almost 8 week old DD2. We are EBF too and had a TT fixed at 8 days old.

I have done lots of feeding lying down including during the day because DDs latch was so much better that way.

Good advice to seek help from experts and go to a support group.

Good luck.

Feed lying down during the day
Use pillows
Hold your boob if you have to. I am 36E and always hold them. LO is 8 mo :)

Thing is. .. it's not always possible to lie down! !!! I'm also not over confident with public feeding. Dd is really noisy so draws attention. the falling of all the time is adding to my dislike of going out. (I've never expressed and not sure i want to go down that road. )
Hibernation is looking more appealing Grin

I know the feeling! Think it probably is just trial and error and experience. I actually lugged a big nursing pillow around in the bottom of my pram for months. I felt embarrassed but I couldn't nurse without it! At around six months I
suddenly could... Also at six months I eventually got sick of being embarrassed and started just whipping my boobs out, was so fed up of trying and failing to cover up and just stopped caring! All the hassle is worth it in the end tho as bf so convenient later compared to bottle feeding (as well as health and emotional benefits).
