I have just been reading their stuff over again and am so depressed about it that it's untrue. Sad

Please,if you want to know more about this obscene state of affairs, check out the website.

It makes me want to go and build my own hut at the end of a secluded valley and never buy anything or consume anything except what I weave myself.

(There was a complicated train of thought that led to that...)

I thought BMA's website was depressing reading until I joined and got the bumph they send out. Holy shit. Really really pisses me off now when people say 'there are more important things to worry about than shops selling discounted forumula". More important than babies dying unnecessarily? Erm, perhaps not. Rant over. And bump.

OK this is the place to ask: If eg Boot's is selling one or two packs of Milupa, bin-end-stylee, at a discount, is that illegal? It's not an offer, they're just getting rid of a couple of old-style boxes they found in the stockroom, or something like that. Definitely for babies under 6mos.

Yes, it's illegal, Pruni :(

Moondog -you will be pleased (I hope) to note that my dd (4) was given some Smarties in a party bag the other day and said mournfully to me "but Mummy I can't eat these sweties, they've got a N on them and Nestle are naughty and yucky" Grin

CorrieDale · 10/06/2006 22:09

oh God! I didn't realise the catsuit was necessary. I've been slobbing around in jeans and tshirt when ticking off boots and the co-op.

A couple of days I was walking past the Body Shop and staff outside tried to give me a sale leaflet as they were selling things cheaply as they were closing down. I declined the leaflet and they said "But there's some really good stuff here and its incerdibly cheap".

I said "I don't care if its free; I won't use any of your products because you have been taken over by Nestle and Nestle promote formila milk to babies who really need breast milk"

Most of thepeople around me stared as if I was mad or looked at me in disgrace as if I was doing domething really wrong nut a couple of people who were about to go in the shop turned round and walked away

Big well done there CKMUM. Grin

I did know about this

its so shite.

its also crap that weaning foods can be marketed to under 6 mos, for the same reason. Its just vile.

I knew the Body Shop had been taken over but somehow it escaped my consciousness that it was by Nestle ffs. How did that happen?

Fillyjonk · 11/06/2006 17:03

It's been taken over by L'Oreal, but they are part-owned by Nestle.

Well done, CK, btw.

Pruni · 11/06/2006 20:25

Aha, yes I remember now it was L'oreal.
Still, pretty odd, given the origins of the Body Shop.
I know Roddick hasn't had a lot to do with it for a while but I thought she was still some sort of Executive Director or something?
Very strange and cynical decision I think.
And why are all the shops closing?

Not only weaning foods...weaning spoons too.
