Itchy boobs (not nipples) and bf

Can anyone help, I have really itchy boobs. My nipples don't itch but my boobs do, not all the time though. I also get shooting pains sometimes in my boobs and it feels really weird when dd latches on to the left breast. It as though my nipple won't extend. Does that make sense? Lol.

I get itchy boobs, with red dry patches on the skin if I've missed a feed.

No funny feeling in the nipple though.

I'm just not sure if it is thrush. It mainly on my left nipple just wierd when she latches on it doesn't feel right. It really pinches, no matter what i do the nipple always comes out deformed and the breast is really itchy. V strange, will have to go to the doctors to check it out.
The feeding is getting very strange now, I'm never sure when she is done, as she doesn't really come off herself and if she does she is never satisfied. I'm so confused. But that's a whole other thread I suppose lol

I used to get this when I was engorged. Does it improve if you hand express a bit?

Not really, my breasts don't feel full. She keeps pulling off the breast, especially the left side, it's like a wrestling match when I'm feeding her. We had a few days of blissful feeding and now we r back to square one.

Itchiness may just be dry skin with the weather. Try moisturising with something simple like e45 or aveeno. Sounds like a latch issue if you're feeling uncomfortable and she's fussy on one side. Try a different hold? I struggled with latch on my right and I think it was to do with which hand was my dominant hand. When I did a rugby hold for the right and cross cradle for left ( so she was approaching from the left for both boobs) things improved because it was my left hand leading the latch both times. Hope that makes some sense!
