Infant feeding

breast to bottle, thoughts?

DD is now four months old and for a number of reasons i want to stop the amount of feeds i do by breast. For the past two days i have been making formula feeds ( a bit blindly) yesterday she took a full 7 ozs at 11 oclock then i gave her another 7 ozs before bed at 6 (cpl of bf inbetween) today however she has only taken about 3 ozs total from the bottle. Shes a bit of a hap hazzard feeder anyway, and only ever takes 5-10 mins from one boob, but sometimes taking 10 or more feeds a day. I want to know what the best way to fit in formula feeds and what kind of routine should i be aiming for? Like i mentioned before, i am a bit blind with the FF malarky, and until now have BF exclusivly. DD has no qualms about taking a bottle ( fortunatly) and i dont want to disrupt her too much as before it was so easy with the BF, now i feel there has to be a bit more of a routine of sorts. Oh and whats the best way to make up bottles, ie, make them up and store in fridge, make them as i go, just do the water then add the formual when ready??? What are other peoples routines or ideas???

I swapped at a far earlier stage, but I guess I would gradually increase the number of bottles, go from one per day, to 2 per day, etc. Also give your breasts a chance to wind down a bit if you do it gradually. I would prepare the bottles and water in advance, but only add the formula when needed.
