Is it really possible to bf toddler just Once a day?

I have seen people on here talk about how their toddler kept up the bedtime feed for x months/years. And I suspect my 10 month old would like a bedtime feed for a while, although it will be easy to give up day time feeds.
But does this really work? Does the supply not drop away really quickly? I'm never sure if when people say their toddler was having bedtime bf, if they had supply kept going during the day / night by a younger sibling?

Yes it is possible. My DS had a bedtime feed until he was 2.6. If the demand is only for once a day then your body adjusts and that is what is taken. Isn't the female body amazing?! smile

I did 2 feeds a day for about 18 months, (from 18 months till 3) then 1 a dy for 4 more months till self- weaned. A good few of the 2 feeds a day were one feed actually if I was out in the evening. So I am sure your supply will be fine, I think your body adjusts quite quickly.

Yes, I did one feed a day with my DC1.

My DD bf until her 4th birthday. For the last year it was probably 1 feed a day. She was definitely getting milk as she talked to me about it, told me what it tasted like etc.

DS only asks about once a week/once a fortnight but my supply is still there. As they get older your supply is much more robust.

DD self weaned at just over 2yo, and for the last couple of months she was only having one feed (at about 4am - she'd get herself out of bed, come into mine, help herself then go back to sleep for a couple of hours smile)

Goodness. Once a fortnight! Wouldn't have thought that would have worked.

Yes and to feed a school aged child, who some weeks, only feed at weekends.

DD2 seemed instinctively to sense if my milk was going to dry up as she'd feed intensively for a few days and then go back to only once every few days.

Supply in the early days works very differently to supply after 1,2,3 years smile

Yes, I did this too. Sometimes missed the odd day, but my milk always seemed to be there. Breastfed DS1 till he was three.
