No digs at anyone allowed - who enjoyed bf'ing, ff'ing ANY type of feeding!!!!

The other threads always seem to invite some kind of battle as to which is best - bf'ing or ff'ing.

I personally have done both as well as expressing milk to bottle feed.

I felt guilty about giving up bf'ing but that was a personal guilt - nothing brought on by comments of other people. My experience of bf'ing with my dd was terrible (I hated it!) but I gave it a shot with ds (and loved it) - unfortunatly he had a tounge tie which meant I had to admit defeat.

I think being a mother is hard enough without feeling horrible about feeding decisions which are very personal to an individual.

How about a thread where we all support each other (no matter what the feeding preferences are) after all thats what women do best Grin

I loved it all - even weaning. But think I am an Enid-wannabe. Grin Preferred breast feeding over bottle feeding TBH but still found that quite satisfying. Hated expressing. Hated making up bottles but DH did most of them.

Yes I hated expressing too - it took over my life a bit. Managed to stick it for 3 months but then moved to ff'ing.

It works for some people though so in a true harmonious fashion lets celebrate that too!!!

hated ng tube feeding where I had to refill and refill a 10ml syringe until dd1 had had 94mls - bloody easy to lose track of how much when doing this at midnight or 4am!!

Loved both bottle feeding and breast feeding - dd1 went on to be bottlefed and dd2 was breastfed - if I have another - no idea what will happen....

I really believe each to their own - my motto - whatever works for you and yours

Mine were all bottle fed after failing to breast feed because I simply found it agony. Worse than labour IMO...anyway...I loved bottle feeding, and would have loved breast feeding too. Alway felt very possessive about feeding, no-one could do it like me.

Feel incredibly sad that I'll never be able to feed my own teeny baby again.

There's nothing like feeding a baby. The way their eyes look up at you. Oh, just makes me want to give them a squeeze.

Eidsvold - with you on the tube feeding. Dd's feed was so thick you had to force it down the tube....only to be rewarded with half of it back up 10 minutes later. Much better when we got the pump - 10mls an hour Grin

I really wanted to breast feed dd but it didn't work out so ended up bottle feeding.
I was more than happy with it and so was dd.
It was great that dh could share the night feeds.

I did find making the feeds up a bit of a PITA but it wasn't all that bad.

I'm going to try and give breast feeding another go when this baby arrives in August but will be prepared for the bottle just in case.

I do miss that amazing sated look that babies get after a feed. Eyes closed & completely satisfied, so lovely.
Nice threat sweetheart - thank you.

I love it when they're full and satisfied and they just sort of lean back panting, with their eyes half-closed. And I love burping a full contented baby too, their little burps are so sweet.....

I should stay away from this thread, I am NOT having any more babies Shock

I didn't enjoy feeding ds1 much - bf or ff - he was incredibly slow and didn't drink much and it was always stressful.

I enjoyed feeding ds2 and ds3 because by this time I had either one or two toddlers as well and it was a nice opportunity to sit down for 10 minutes and just have a cuddle and a chat with the baby - I just didn't do this so much with ds2 or ds3 as there was always other stuff to do. Ds1 got held a lot because, frankly, life was a doddle for me with one baby.

I love to sit DD2 up for her belch after and during her feed, and she starts grinning and cooing. Oh! It's the perfect opportunity to stroke and kiss her lovely head.

DD1 had spiky hair that I'd play w/whilst winding her.

I used to love when feeding ds in the middle of the night, just me and him in a lovely quiet house - no visitors, no telephone, no housework - just quality time to gaze adoringly at him and stroke his lovely babysoft hair...(obviously not ALL night feeds were as lovely and calm as this!!!)

If my ds wakes for a feed in the middle of the night I can barely get 2oz in him because he just looks up at me smiling away. It's a lovely feeling though - I initially hate to get up but as soon as I am in his dimly lit nursery, rocking gently in the chair, watching him just love his mummy so much I often don't want to go back to bed Smile

dd was a nightmare a glow worm would have a better suck than her! Grin

ds1 and 2 were much better - greedy little gits so no stress.

Bottle feeding I loved - spoon feeding hated!
