small lump on boob

I am breastfeeding my 5 week old DS and in the last couple of days have noticed a very small lump near the areola on one boob. It is painless and the skin is reddish over where the lump is.

Any ideas what this is? I've been at the GP constantly with one thing or another so don't want to have to go again unless I really need too.

It could be a clogged duct. Try massaging it and either putting a warm flannel on it or having a hot shower/bath to help ease it. If it doesn't shift with this, go back to the GP.

Thanks flubba I had wondered about that to start with but when I googled clogged ducts I got the impression they hurt?

Will try massage and got shower for good measure!

I had a couple while breastfeeding and they didn't start off hurting, but they did start off red on top, but then got sore as I hadn't realised what they were. I think they did hurt when I massaged them (but maybe that was because I'd left them a few days?).
