HELP URGENT!

New to bottlefeeding, after 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding, Iam now giving DS one bottle at bed time to get him through the night. Daft question but would a bottle I have made up just over 24 hours ago be okay to give to him now?

Does anyone have any other good tips they could share with me about bottlefeeding? Like, if you are supposed to use a bottle within an hour of making it, what do you do when you take bottles out with you for the day?

you need to get a formula dispenser. Then measuer the right amount of powder into each compartment. Just take bottles of boiled cooled water and then mix in the powder as you need the milk.

thanks again yorkie! Now another question - say the baby wants a bottle in a hurry and I haven't cooled the water down quick enough! Could I make up some pre prepared cooled boiled water bottles and then add the powder as and when? And how long could I keep the cooled boiled water bottles for?

yes you could do that. Keep the water for 24 hours as you would made up formula, just to be careful.

you could also put the warmed bottle of water in a bowl of cold water, this cools it pretty quickly

Hey, Have changed formulas to Omneo Comfort from Aptamil due to my little girl having terrible colic. It does seem to have done the trick, she is much happier, but she is taking much less of this formula. She used to take around 5oz every 4 hours, but has reduced down to 3ish. Anybody have any advice or experiences? Thanks, Sx

Smudge, try and get her weighed every week if it's possible to check she's still gaining, and if she is go for it.

loopyredangel - good luck with your endeavours. If you do a search of the archives you will find that formula feeds invariably do not make babies sleep all night. Having got to 6 months exclusive feeding, it seems a real shame to have to start with the hassle of making up formula. More feeds in the day might help.
