Night time feeding

My DD is 20 weeks old and has been exclusively bottle fed for the last two weeks. She has adapted quite well to feeding every three hours rather than on demand, but seems to be feeding more at night than during the day. Eg. Last night she had approx 400ml during the day and 540ml between 18.00 and 05.00. This started with a feed of 260ml, supposedly the last feed before sleep ! and she woke at least 5 times during the night for more food. I've also tried a small amount of baby rice, thinking this might fill her up, but it doesn't seem to be happening. I don't think she's quite up to steak and chips yet!!! What shall I do to get her to eat more in the day and sleep for longer at night????

Does she seem quite content when she has finished a feed?
Could you maybe make up bigger feeds and see if she will take more in one feed?

She only ever finishes the 260ml bottle we give her before bed and only manages 180ml in one sitting during the day.................

I dont think all the night wakings are related to food - your lo could be using the bottle to get back to sleep. If it has been less than 4 hours since the last feed during the night I would work on settling your lo without a feed. Does your lo go to sleep on their last bottle or do they go to sleep by themselves? If it is the former, I would work on putting your lo in their cot when they are very sleepy but still awake and let them go to sleep by themselves (with a little help if required - but not by the bottle)
