have read the recent thread on these bottles with interest and was wondering if anyone else had a significant improvement in wind/colic reduction after using these? am keen to try them but wondered if i would just use the teat size that they are supplied with for a 5 week old baby or would i need a special one?

btw for those that replied to my thread about switching from breast to bottle, thanx for your support and we are currently fairly successfully mixed feeding, so am sticking with the breast feeding for a bit longer.

they were a godsend for us. Ds was a painfully windy baby, and we noticed a huge improvement. Also, if we hadn't any sterilised and used an Avent one instead, we noticed the difference. Of course, it was only a real drama in the early days, but I will definitely be having them again for this next baby.

Cubby, with mixed feeding (sounds like you've made a choice that's workable for you - lovely!), you might want to stick with the lowest flow teat you can - DS only went up to size 2 teats and he had EBM in bottles when I was at work until he was a year old.

If the flow's too fast, there's a chance they'll not do the "work" that's needed to breastfeed.
