Refusing milk!!

My 9mth old ds is bf. I work 2 days a week, 12hr shifts, and dh looks after him. Trouble is, he won't take more than a few mouthfuls of ebm.He has a beaker as he has always point blank refused a bottle. I am worried that this is bad for him. I was also hoping to wind down the bf too, but how can I if he won't take milk any other way??!!

Any ideas??

Bumping this - could do with some suggestions to trying to get my DS onto cups/bottles so i can have a break after 6 months - please! Im going to need to go on a barrage of interviews etc soon and i need to be able to be away from him for more than 3 hours during the day. He is 6mths.

ok, no prob with having a beaker! he'll get used to it soon enough and as long as he is having other fluid i am sure he'll be fine! make sure to give him a big b/f before you go and when you get back to make up for it!

there is absolutely no reason why you can't go straight to a beaker at 6 months from breastfeeding... in fact it's probabyl better than using a bottle.
it's just a matter of finding one that your ds will take!

He wont take ANYTHING at the moment. He gags when i put a bottle, beaker, weaning spoon etc in his mouth. He fights even when i try and rub teething gel on his gums. he shuts his mouth tight. Just doesnt want to know. Will quite happily chew on his fists though. I dont want to physically force him but it does seem daft that i cant do it. My DD was never like this.

My DS was a bottle refuser. However once hungry enough and with no other option (I was out) he would take the bottle.
I don't think there is any magic answer

CG - how much is your DS eating?
