Abdominal pain after stopping breastfeeding.

I wonder if anyone else has experienced similar symptoms to these. I stopped breastfeeding my 14 month old about 8 days ago after he had gradually weaned himself off over several weeks. For about 6 days now i have experienced period pain type cramps, nausea and some headaches. They are controllable with painkillers and have a pattern like periods pain ie morning and night. They are not getting worse and not going away. I have of course been to the Nurse practitioner( no Drs available) and she has done swabs, urine and pregnancy test. Urine has high protein and have to wait for swabs to come back but she can see nothing wrong and I don't have a temperature. I've had no engorgement and a slightly tender breast but pretty sure it is normal. I have had mastitis previously and this doesn't feel like it. Not even a mild case. She doesn't seem to know what is going on and says she'll send me for an ulrasound if it continues. However, I googled it and it turns out that this seems to be something that happens to some people when they stop breastfeeding. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Sorry to give so much detail!
thank you!

I presume the pregnancy test was negative?

Hi, did you ever find an answer to your problem? I am having the exact same issues right now. I am curious to know if you found anything out!

Did you have your period back when you stopped feeding?

Could it be ovulation?
