I am babysitting a friends baby who I have every week. He is not very well and has already drank the one bottle of milk that I had, he is exhausted and won't go to sleep as I havn't got his dummy, if I mixed cows milk with water in his bottle would this be ok?

I know I should know this but want reasurrence please.

Yes too young
put him in the pushchair and take him roung the block, he'll drop off, weather permitting, you'll be fine

I can't go out. I also have a 16 month old and a 6 year old home from school ill. Have tried rocking him in the pushchair, he just screams.

oh blimey
well can you wash the bottle teet out and get him to use that as his dummy while getting your 6 year old to dance for him?

LOL, hadn't thought of using the bottle teat, mine never had dummies. Wish he would dance, he is led in the chair watching Star Wars, I am sick of Star wars!!!!!!!

Is he old enough to have some cooled boiled water in his bottle?

Duh, he's 10 months ... of course he is!!!

Try some water, see if the sucking settles him.

Hi...just need to say that using a bottle teat instead of a dummy is dangerous....especially with a 16 month old.

It could be inhaled or swallowed.

Sorry!!

not if you keep it in your hand, surely no one would dream of giving to a child without supervision

I would try the water if nothing else works. Sucking might soothe him. Best of luck!

water best bet, you cant really give him cows milk without his mum being there as she may object and he not stictly old enough.

water'll do, wash the bottle out well and give him cooled boiled water (if you havnt got any at that age water out the tap shouldnt do any harm!)
