My tips are,

drink lots of water
get enough sleep
smile more
resist the sun on your face
wear less makeup (it really works, makeup seems to accentuate the fine lines)
use products suited to your age range and skin type

I generally like the Boots Feel Good Forum series, but find this one slightly sad.

Laughter lines? Ageing is a reality, and I agree with the comments about drinking water, getting sleep, sun cream and moisturiser, but despite all these we will have laughter lines and wrinkles, because we are getting older.

Agree with the specialist's comment about not stopping smiling. I dislike my grey hairs, but have a certain soft stop for my laughter lines.

Sleep as much as possible.
Drink as much water as possible.
Eat oily fish.
Moisturise.
Laugh.
Accept that you are getting older smile

Have a happy life, be positive, enjoy making memories with your friends and loved ones, eat well, always drink water everyday, 8 hours minium sleep, moisturize your skin twice a day and most importantly smilesmile

manfalou Wed 19-Jun-13 09:08:28

Sleep! Those who don't get much look older quicker (Gordon Ramsey) Eat healthily and take care of your skin, Its never to early to start a regime (or to late)

Think positive thoughts and even if you don't feel like smiling, fake it til you make it. Eat well. Sleep well. Not an elixir no but at least we'll look good while ageing!

I would echo most of the above and note that there are no advocates of any particular miracle elixir. Its all just common sense moisturise, sun screen, eat well and drink plenty of water. Smoking is bad on so many levels but you can always spot a smoker of a certain age just by looking at her face. One more thing is to wear shades in bright weather so you don't screw up your eyes. Finally, smile, it knocks years off.

Be thankful to be alive, embrace change, and be happy smile

CMOTDibbler Wed 19-Jun-13 12:38:46

Don't smoke, drink in moderation (and that doesn't mean a glass of wine everynight imo), limit your sun exposure and wear an spf moisturiser. And embrace aging - you are your age and why would you pretend otherwise.

CheeryCherry Wed 19-Jun-13 12:49:19

Sleep, good food, exercise, gallons of moisturiser, surround yourself with positive people. All easier said than done!

Liked the tips from Dr Nick-I always used to buy cheap sunglasses but think its time I invested in some "proper" ones to protect my eyes from the suns rays because otherwise, all those fancy creams are for nothing!

I don't think anyone should worry about the signs of ageing too much. So long as you are happy & healthy, what's a few wrinkles? That said, I have started to use anti-ageing creams now I'm nearly 40 and I must say that my skin looks better. I think the creams and potions alone are never enough to combat ageing signs though- when I've had a health drive eating loads of fruit and vegetables and drinking water I always think I look and feel better.

Tee2072 Wed 19-Jun-13 12:57:07

Embrace the signs of aging if they are from laughter!

Otherwise, use an SPF cream all year long, drink lots and lots of water, get plenty of sleep and, ^my top tip^: don't have a baby at 40!!*

*My son is 4. I am 44. grin

wigglebumsmum Wed 19-Jun-13 13:01:37

Not to worry about it too much! Accept that as you age, your will age too. Eat well, keep hydrated and take advantage of the wonderful products on the market that hide the signs of aging so well!

Catiinthehat Wed 19-Jun-13 13:24:39

Very interesting!
My advice is have fun and laugh a lot!
If you feel young, you look young.

Eat healthily and be active!

daisybrown Wed 19-Jun-13 13:52:06

Prevention is 10 times better than cure. So smile it shows better than any lotion or potion ever will.

dahville Wed 19-Jun-13 14:16:03

Stay hydrated, get enough rest, and moisturise.

My favourite piece of his advice is to keep smiling!

flamingtoaster Wed 19-Jun-13 15:18:23

Another vote for lots of water, a good diet, sunscreen and moisturizer. The most important thing, however, is a positive attitude. Never fall into the trap of thinking that your age should stop you doing something you really want to do - have fun even if others think you are a bit crazy! Always remember that getting older is a much better option than the alternative!

PenelopeCruiserliner Wed 19-Jun-13 15:29:22

Echo all the advice already mentioned.
Cultivate an inner glow - be happy, positive, generous etc. inner beauty radiates outwards.

JanePlanet Wed 19-Jun-13 16:16:53

I used to work with older people, you could see the types of lives they'd had by the lines on their faces, happy people had lots of laughter lines, miserable people had jowels and no laughter lines. You could also spot a smoker a mile off by their cats bum mouth! It's true that one day when the wind changes your face really will set.
Keep your face out of the sun, lots of moisturiser and agree with the tip about less makeup. Makes lines look deeper.

Shiraztastic Wed 19-Jun-13 17:10:54

Enjoy life, don't listen to any advertising about what you "should" look like or feel aboutyourself.

TheBirdsFellDownToDingADong Wed 19-Jun-13 17:10:59

Sleep, Water, Sex grin, Astral on your neck.

No leggings if you can remember them first time round.

No lipliner. Ever.

No curtain hairstyle if you're over 35.

Stick your chin forward when having your pic taken.

ummefatima Wed 19-Jun-13 18:42:01
