Sarah Waters, The Paying Guests

Sorry if this has been discussed before. Just finished reading and was extremely disappointed there were none of the twists and turns usually associated with Waters' novels. The start of the book is very good good it draws you in but it has none of the usual what is going to happen to turn it on its head and leave you thinking I never expected that.

Was anybody else disappointed or do did you love it?

You've posted on both the threads about this book already in fiction after having read the book (I know that because I'm on them too and told you off for posting spoilers on the non spoiler thread). You must be very disgruntled and disappointed indeed
