Having seen several posts about pendant alarms and their limitations in the archives here, I was wondering whether or not a panic button app on the smartphone you already have would be something that would be of interest to the users of Mumsnet?
Being perfectly open and honest, I work for a company that has such an app that sends your GPS position along with a pre-recorded message during an alarm, but I would like to have an open discussion to see if it would be something that the other forum members feel would be of use for the safety of single parents or even for your older children with smartphones.
The app is a subscription service, which is monitored by a professional ARC monitoring call centre and the staff there will have the details of the user who activated the alarm as well as who to call in the event of an emergency, Mum/Dad etc or even the emergency services.
I'm more than happy to answer questions, so please feel free to ask anything you like.
If it is what you think is what is needed, we would be prepared to offer a discount to members of Mumsnet.
What do you think, is this something that would be of use?
