Baby number 4!!

Hi,

I am a mum of 3 children, ages 10, 8 and 5 (he will be 6 when the baby is born). I have just found out that I am pregnant again (not planned!) and am worried about how a new baby will effect my children as the current three are close in age. Anyone with experience and advice of big age gaps and how the older siblings dealt with it! Thanks

They will absolutely love it. My older children were so proud to have a new baby. They wanted to push the pram, help with nappy changing and would play for hours with him. There was a gap between the youngest one because the next one up was not a good sleeper.
Congratulations on your pregnancy as I think four is a great number. Mine are all coming home for Christmas, plus partners and Children. It's going to be hectic but they are so good together.
Even though it was hard work when they were all small. It is wonderful to see them all get on together. I just wish I had had more now.

Hi there, the default position of siblings is to welcome new ones, and I am sure that your lovely crew will be pleased by the bonus baby.
That is what I call them when I meet the many families who have had an 'unexpected' addition. As a consultant paediatrician I see them very much as a blessing. As app. 50% of pregancies are 'unplanned' yours is the norm.
