Moving to Manchester

Hi we're moving to Manchester in the new year and don't know the area very well. Want to be somewhere that has plenty going on, plus cafés etc. Also good nurseries/schools/parks. Thinking South Manchester rather than north, but open to suggestions. Thanks.

There are 4 groups for Grater Manchester. If you know where are you moving exactly, choose the proper one. Manchester-trafford is here: local.mumsnet.com/manchester-trafford/ There are also meet ups. Don't know how to find different ones on the site - got one from twitter: local.mumsnet.com/manchester-trafford/group-meet-ups/didsbury
If you want to know more about the area with no family/parent angle better ask on reddit. Manchester group over there is more active but it feels like most of them are very young people, like students or so.
