Good evening everyone, as a mother of a 12 year old boy who is mildly autistic, I have been racking my brain wondering if there is more to do around here than the usual cinema, arcades, play station etc.... there are so many things to do if your 10 and under but if your a shy young boy or girl with learning difficulties and has problems meeting new kids and getting along with them what can they do?!
I am in need of new ideas of what I do put to my local council about teen activities around the Wirral/Merseyside.
I am fed up with my son being 'too old' for children's activities.
please help
thank you

What are his interests? In Chester there is a Warhammer meet-up at a shop in Watergate street....I know a lot of lads this age enjoy Warhammer and it's a particularly ASD type of hobby as far as I can tell...very rules orientated but also creative.

Painting the figures, talking about them and playing the rather complicated games seems to be a real joy for many. If he's not into that maybe you could look it up online and see if he might like a look at the basics?

But I see now I've re-read your OP that you're looking for ideas to put to te council...not too sure about that! Are there any youth clubs? Is DS into things like sports etc?
