Two weeks on leave from work made me realise how rushed I usually am, and how my time with my daughters lacks spontaneity. Some bonding over bugs helped me realise this!

FiveHoursSleep - that blog article is incredible! Thank you for sharing it... although it did make me feel a bit sad. Your friend is such a strong lady. x

*NEW FINDINGS*: the UK/US Special Relationship is generally beloved of Americans, in the same way that they might adore a particular Great Aunt.

Yep, after a brief hiatus, I'm back writing about all things American.

I am particularly proud of this post. It took me a while to research and write, but I am very pleased with it.

I have had a bit of a break - was rather overwhelmed by summer holidays. Decided to just post a little video of ds1 surfing with his coach at the end of August. This little clip was amazing to watch being filmed because the person filming was surfing alongside ds1 & the coach. He then turned the camera off and surfed over to my friend and handed it to him without stopping smile

Homemade Bread Recipe: http://www.fcknits.co.uk/2013/homemade-bread-recipe

Soft white loaf - easily adaptable to wholemeal etc (just sub the flour) - and just one rising. ;) I did a little experimentation and discovered that omitting a second rising does not noticeably impact on white bread - major time/hassle saver. smile x

We went to France where we found some time between swimming, strolling and reading stories to conquer les crafts with a fairy house

A hopelessly sentimental picture post to mark the transition from newborn to schoolboy

The idea of my little boy at the controls of an airliner is terrifying.
