Announcing... BlogFest '13!

KateMumsnet · 15/07/2013 12:07

We're thrilled to announce that BlogFest '13 will take place on Saturday, 9th November at the suitably swish Kings Place in central London.

This year's BlogFest will be another glittering celebration of all there is to love about blogging, in the company of some of the most talented writers and bloggers around. So, whether you're a talented newbie or a seasoned hand - or a non-blogger who just wants to take part in some cracking discussions and debates - join us!

We'll have a high-octane programme, packed with fabulous speakers, gripping panel sessions and bespoke advice, to help you get the most from what you post. We'll hear from Dr Robert Winston, Prof Tanya Byron, and Richard Bacon, with style maven Louise Mensch and whip-smart commentator Glosswitch adding zest to the mix. Blogging dynamos A Girl Called Jack, Mammasaurus and Mummy Barrow will be sharing their blogging know-how, and we'll be announcing more speakers shortly - so Book now for a great Early Bird deal. But hurry, last year's tickets sold out in three weeks!

If you came to BlogFest '12, we'd love to see you again! Do share your memories here on the thread to give newbies a feel for the day - and if you didn't come last year but would like to join us in November, here's the place to post your wibbles questions, and connect with fellow attendees. Or take to Twitter, using the hashtag #blogfest.

Roll on BlogFest '13!

That sounds great! I didn't know about this last year, but would like to come this time. I'd like to meet other bloggers - will there be much chance to socialise?

It was very social last year. I met loads of people.

Hello both !

As FiveHoursSleep says, there were lots of opps for meeting and chatting last year, and we intend this year to be just as sociable.

There'll be coffee and pastries mid-morning, a delicious lunch in the middle of the programme, and a chance to unwind, mingle and discuss at the drinks reception at the end of the day.

Last year was brilliant - loads of bloggers who didn't know each other from Adam chatting over the proceedings and forging new friendships. This year we're mulling ways to help first-timers feel even more at home - including an 'introduce yourself' linky in the weeks leading up to the 'Fest, and a special 'talk to me, I'm new too' thingy on the badges. As always your ideas are very welcome, so do shout if you've got any thoughts about how we can make everyone feel at home, and we'll add them to our mulling list.

Loved it last year. Hope it's ok to share memories via relevant link from my blog? liveotherwise.co.uk/makingitup/2012/11/13/that-was-the-weekend-that-was-mumsnet-blogfest/

Really looking forward to this year. Have started a twitter list, please @ me to be included. Could name badges have avatars on or is that majorly costly?

Ooh, am dithering...might write this off as a business expense! I regretted not going last year, so I prob should go this year, even if it's way harder to get to this year (for me, doubt it is for anyone else!)

Ah, never dither! Your cunning plan sounds good katese11

Anyone know of cheap hotels near the venue?

I doubt I can come. Missed out last year because of giving birth. This year I think I might be too poor. Plus I kind of stopped blogging. But would have loved to meet so many of the MN bloggers.

Oh what a shame PetiteRaleuse - we'd love to have seen you there. And you can always start blogging again?

I'm going but no idea what to expect. Seen pix in last year's press of mums in v girly glamour (well clean skirts) and just hope there'll be others who are going on tods, and therefore willing to chat. A question - I run 3 blogs, 2 v suitable for mumsnet registering (one on childcare, the other travelling the world without leaving the UK - intriguing eh?). But only one is allowed to be registered. Could that change to suit us multitaskers? /emo/te/11.gif
