Hi All.

I need to ascertain the amount of unique visitors from my blog //www.bishopstonmum.com over the last month. But when I look at Google Analytics it doesn't tell me! Please can anyone advise?

Right on the first page of Analytics it does. Or are you using a plugin?

Hi Tee2071,

Thanks for helping me. When I check my unique visitors on Google Analytics it just says zero. But i know from my Blogger overview stats I am getting nearly 5000 page views per month so know I must be getting more than zero unique visitors!

No, not using a plug in (not even sure what that is?!).

Do you think that maybe the problem is because I changed to self-hosted about 6 months or so?

You have to put the right code in the right part of your site settings. I'm very good at getting it wrong so that's all the help I can give! But without the unique code being somewhere that Google can read it, your visits will show as zero.

Having said all that, my Google stats are completely different to the stats from Blogger themselves, so I don't know how reliable Google are. The Blogger stats are more in agreement with the number of people who seem to visit the blog via my Facebook page, as well as the comments etc that I get.
Perhaps it's worth using another stats tool anyway, even if you get Google to work?

I would agree with Peeky. You've got your code in the wrong place somewhere.

Are you using Wordpress as your blog platform?

In order to get the Google Analytics to work you need to use a Google Analytics plug in, as that will place the code where it needs to go.

I use Google Analyticator

If you're using Blogger, I'm afraid I can't help, sorry! Someone will probably be along who can, though.

Peeky, I meant to say, Google Analytics and Wordpress look at different stats, and Blogger probably does also, so you need to make sure you're comparing the same thing to decide if you're getting the right stats all over the place.

Thanks Tee, it's all quite confusing. I think it's probably better to base the success of your posts on feedback from people anyway, where possible, as interaction with your readers/visitors is the best indication that you're reaching them.
Having said that, I just love looking at the stats!

Stats are fun but, yes, I agree. Look at the comments and referrals rather than the actual numbers.
