Where should I go next with my blog?

Hi there

Sorry, I don't post on M N much, but I'd like to canvass some unbiased opinions on the direction I should go with my blog. I write on places to go in London with a toddler (londonwithatoddler.wordpress.com/), but my ds turned 3 in June and I don't really feel like I have a toddler any more! I'm also aware that ds starting nursery is going to severely limit our daytrip (and therefore blogging) opportunities. I have another toddler-in-training, but she's only 4mo atm, so not much use for blogging purposes.

So, should I:

A) continue blogging but subtly change the emphasis to preschooler tips?
B) as A but change the name of the blog?
C) quit when I get to 100 posts (on 91 atm), decide that I've done most of London and move onto something else?

All opinions welcome!!

Thanks

Kate

I would think that those following your blog will have similar aged children to you - and so it would be fine to move towards pre-schoolers. Perhaps change the name if you want to generate more traffic, as long as those already following you will keep up (I'm not expert with blogs!)
Good luck, sounds interesting - shame I'm not in London!

Yes, I agree with SmileItsSunny - other people's children will be growing too! And as a Londoner (who now lives in rural Gloucestershire), I don't believe you can have exhausted London in just 91 posts! There's no magic number. I'd say, just keep blogging about what you love to blog about.

By the way, you can keep the URL but also buy a new one and point it the existing one so you can attract new readers while not losing your loyal followers who have got your current address. You can also have a Wordpress URL saying one thing but change the title on the actual page - it doesn't have to match.

Good luck and keep blogging!

Thanks both! I don't really feel like I've exhausted London isywim, just done most of the obvious places and it's now getting a bit more obscure. But I still enjoy it, just need to get creative with new places to go!

Depends, do you enjoy it? Sometimes it might be nice to start it all again and do something different. I have a burgeoning desire to write a properly anonymous blog about a post kids sex life. I might exhaust all available topics after about 5 posts. There's only so many times I can mention my crush on Fireman Sam.

Don't feel you have to blog about special daytrip places, just blogging about daily life in London, with plenty of photographs of your surroundings will be interesting. Lots of people will visit your blog from all over the world, you can give them a flavour of local coffee shops, parks, markets etc, what life is like for you. It might seem quite ordinary for you but for someone like me who lives in rural Ireland, I love to look at blogs of people in cities all over the world.

I like your blog. You could rename it London Without A Toddler or London Sometimes With a Toddler...

It is the kind of blog that I would look for if I were going to London with the kids, and if you include general tips and recommendations for non-children activities, you would widen your audience.
